Awhile ago I stumbled upon
PilotWorkshop.com and was I impressed. You know how it is. You are going around the Internet looking for flying stuff that is useful and most of it isn't, really . Or, it is not what you are looking for. But this website, sends you a free tip of the week from some of the most trusted names in aviation today.

Anyway, again, I went and subscribed to yet another email list. (As if I didn't have enough stuff coming into my Inbox as it was.) Then, everyweek, I started getting pilot tips in my email. It usually involves Mark, the person that owns the website, asking a CFI a particular aviation related question.
The first email I got was Doug Stewart telling me what the most important word in pilot's vocabulary should be when working with ATC. Do you know what it is? Me. I'd forgotten it, but now I use it all the time. In fact, the other day, flying into Salt Lake City, tower asked us to take this particular high-speed exit, but because my first officer landed long we weren't able to and I said, "Unable." This started a flurry of events. JetBlue had to exit the runway and SkyWest almost had to go around. Oh well. The safety of my airplane and my passengers comes first.
Since then I've gotten an email every week with a useful tip that I apply even in my professional flying career.
The only think I don't like about the emails is that sometimes they are too short. I would like them to be just a little bit longer. Oh well, it's f.r.e.e and they really do have some great information.
The other thing I like is that the tips usually have great graphics...I'm a huge graphics fan...and an audio mp3 file so you can listen to the interview.
