Great Flight Destinations

Been on any good flights lately? What do you like to do when you fly?

I recently flew from Martin State in Maryland (near BWI) to Ocean City, NJ (26N). The great thing about flying into OC, NJ is that you can walk to the beach from the airport. In less than an hour of flying and 10 min of walking, we spent a day at the beach. There is also a cozy diner and a golf course at the airport. They charge $10 to park if you leave the airport grounds.

On the other coast, based in Tehachapi, California (KTSP, Elev. 4001 ft) I love to fly to Oceano (L52). Walking directly to the beach (5 minutes) and no charge if you don't stay overnight. There is a campground connected to the airport. 5$ tie down per night and a couple of restaurants on the way to the beach

Last month I did three two-day trips that had me overnight in Monterey, CA (MRY) via SFO. All the trips into MRY were on the EMB120 and we took the CRJ out in the morning. Unfortunately, 2 of the three trips were nasty weather and the third trip was cold but we could at least go out of the hotel and go for dinner.

As I write this I'm in a hotel in Lincoln, NE, finishing up a four-day trip tomorrow and commuting home to COS. It was a tough day --- no APU, my right engine wouldn't start, and it was -15 degrees C in Winnipeg when we started. It's cold here too...
